Associate Career Development and Training

Career Development
Cornerstone Research provides a dynamic work environment that offers an array of opportunities for associates to develop professionally. Case teams include consultants at all levels of experience, including those who have just completed their graduate education, recent graduates from top undergraduate programs, and senior staff with many years of consulting experience. Projects involve close collaboration with clients and academic and industry experts to research cutting-edge issues in industry and academia, develop case strategy, and determine how best to communicate findings. Associates participate actively in shaping the firm’s recruiting, training, and practice development strategies, as well as organizing social and community outreach events. Over time associates take on increasing levels of responsibility for the leadership and management of case teams, client and expert relationships, and firm development efforts.

Training
Cornerstone Research values the professional growth of consultants and recognizes their contributions. The firm makes an investment in professional development, conducting regular training sessions for consultants at all levels and providing individual training sessions. Senior consulting staff also provide advice and mentoring on a regular basis.

Associates work on projects with numerous colleagues firmwide. They have the flexibility to build their skills and capabilities in new fields and with new teams and are not limited to one area or formally assigned to a group or senior staff member.

“Unlike many consulting firms, all associates at Cornerstone Research are hired with the expectation that they can develop and build long-term careers with the firm. Cornerstone Research devotes a lot of time and energy toward developing its people at all stages along their career paths.”

“I started at Cornerstone Research straight out of my Ph.D. program. I have grown a great deal in each stage of my career. Because my responsibilities are continually changing, I have had a consistently interesting and challenging job. For example, I have worked with many highly esteemed faculty over the years, but I am now also providing expert testimony myself. It is truly incredible how others in the firm have supported me as I tackled each new stage.”
