Associate/Summer Associate Position

 

Associate Role

Associates are central to casework at Cornerstone Research, and are involved in all phases of projects. Initially, associates participate actively in the formulation of the work plan and the analysis of issues. As work progresses, associates handle the complex aspects of a case directly, while managing and advising analysts. They work with senior staff, faculty experts, and clients to develop case strategy and to determine how best to communicate our findings. An associate's responsibilities include:

In addition, associates have responsibilities extending beyond client work, and have the opportunity to play active roles in shaping and implementing the firm's recruiting, training, and research strategies.

 

Candidate Profile

We seek Ph.D.s and M.B.A.s with an interest in business issues spanning the areas of finance and economics. The ideal candidate should have the ability to apply academic research to real world problems, present concise explanations of complex analyses, and independently manage projects and junior staff. Candidates should have a strong background in finance, economics, or accounting, as well as strong analytical and communication skills. Our associates have Ph.D.s in economics, finance, and accounting from schools including Chicago, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale, and M.B.A.s from such schools as Chicago, MIT, Stanford, and Wharton. We also hire summer associates, generally the year before anticipated completion of their degrees.
