David Marcus specializes in applying economic and financial models to securities litigation. Dr. Marcus has consulted in numerous securities class actions involving accounting restatements, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) violations, and other alleged misrepresentations and omissions. He has managed case teams supporting liability and damages experts in some of the largest securities class actions.
Dr. Marcus has consulted on a wide variety of securities and valuation issues, such as market manipulation, insider trading, private company valuation, investor trading behavior, and mutual fund market timing. He has experience in all phases of securities litigation, from class certification to trial, as well as mediation and arbitration. He has also prepared experts for deposition and trial testimony.
Dr. Marcus joined Cornerstone Research after completing his doctoral work in finance and banking. His research has been published in the Journal of Financial Economics.
