Steven Gissiner is an expert on evaluating and benchmarking costs for retirement plan administrative services. Mr. Gissiner has testified in numerous matters related to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), including defined retirement contribution administrative services and investment advisory litigation. He has addressed a range of allegations, such as excessive recordkeeping and fund fees, the structure of administrative servicing fees, breach of fiduciary duties, and the manner in which fees are charged to retirement plan participants.

As an independent consultant, Mr. Gissiner currently works with client companies to ensure the effective management and administration of qualified retirement plan arrangements. Over the course of his career, his clients have included Fortune 500 companies and healthcare entities, with retirement plans ranging in size from fewer than 100 participants to more than 50,000 participants.

In addition, Mr. Gissiner has expertise with retirement plan design. He has analyzed operational inefficiencies; prepared and evaluated defined contribution plan Requests for Proposals and Requests for Information; and assessed issues related to plan compliance and fiduciary governance.

Mr. Gissiner has more than three decades of retirement plan services and investment advisory expertise. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he became a partner and headed the firm’s West Coast practice for defined contribution administrative services.
