Cornerstone Research was retained by defense counsel to provide consulting services in a large multi-defendant age discrimination matter. We provided support and advice to counsel regarding case strategy, discovery, and negotiations with the plaintiffs. We analyzed defendant data for settlement purposes, calculating estimates of potential damages under various assumptions. This included estimating the probability that employees of different ages would be hired in various jobs, as well as estimating potential lost wages. Cornerstone Research also assessed the damages approaches proposed by the plaintiffs, showing that the plaintiffs’ methods were at odds with accepted academic labor literature.
