Vandy Howell is an economist with expertise in industrial organization and labor economics. Dr. Howell focuses on antitrust, intellectual property, marketing, and class certification matters. She has experience across many industries, including cases involving technology and innovation, agriculture, and labor markets. Dr. Howell has served as the head of Cornerstone Research’s San Francisco office.
Dr. Howell has applied economic theory to complicated market settings and developed complex models using econometric techniques. She has consulted on antitrust and competition issues in many high-profile cases, such as:
Dr. Howell regularly speaks and publishes on matters related to antitrust and competition. Who’s Who Legal recognizes her as a leading competition economist. She has taught industrial organization and public policy at the University of California, Berkeley.
Dr. Howell is vice chair of the Section Influence Task Force for the Section of Antitrust Law of the American Bar Association (ABA). She has also co-chaired the section’s Agriculture and Food Committee, and served on the section’s Big Data Task Force and Long Range Planning Committee.
Dr. Howell is one of the founders of the Cornerstone Research Women’s Forum, a series of networking events that foster discussion of thought-provoking topics relevant to women professionals.
