Inc. Magazine Names Cornerstone Research to Best Workplaces List 2020

Cornerstone Research is honored among a select group of companies for standout employee engagement and commitment to professional growth.

New York—Cornerstone Research has again been named to Inc. magazine’s annual list of the Best Workplaces for 2020. Chosen from thousands of entries, the firm is among a select group of U.S. companies recognized for their commitment to a vibrant, supportive culture, deep employee engagement, and stellar benefits.

Cornerstone Research President Yesim Richardson noted: “Our firm’s core values underpin everything we do. These values ensure not only our commitment to excellence, but also the focus on collaboration that has guided generations of staff since our founding more than thirty years ago. Living our values is what makes our culture so supportive and special. I am especially proud that the word our colleagues used most frequently to describe our firm in the Inc. survey was, in fact, ‘collaborative.’”

Living our values is what makes our culture so supportive and special.

“Cornerstone Research has long supported our employees’ professional and personal goals,” added Chief Human Resources Officer Elena Garcia. “Through a variety of innovative initiatives, we seek to empower our team members as they work towards those goals. Recognizing our employees’ dedication by comprehensively supporting them is core to who we are as a firm.”

To qualify for consideration in the 2020 Inc. Best Workplaces list, each company had to achieve a sufficiently high response rate based on employee count. Survey scores accounted for employer size to level the field between small and large businesses. All companies had to be U.S.-based, privately held, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies.

In researching the entries and compiling the results, Inc. and Quantum Workplace, an employee engagement firm that administered the survey, found that the strongest engagement scores came from companies that prioritize employee recognition, performance management, and diversity. They identified several themes that also align closely with Cornerstone Research’s mission and values:

  • When employees feel valued by their organization, they are far more likely to be engaged. This single factor proved to be one of the largest drivers of employee engagement.
  • Offering employees access to learning and development opportunities is vital to an engaged workplace.
  • The best companies diligently foster a culture that supports all employees.
  • Employees deeply value substantive health and wellness benefits, including health insurance, opportunities to relax and recharge, fitness reimbursements, and concierge services.

“Building a great corporate culture comes only from strong leadership,” says Inc. magazine editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “The companies on Inc.’s Best Workplaces list are setting an example that the whole country can learn from, especially now, when company culture is more important to the workforce than ever.”
