Cornerstone Research performed an independent forensic accounting of whistleblower claims of over-reimbursement and fraud by a large metropolitan area ambulance provider.
Using the ambulance company’s billing database, we searched tens of millions of records for transactions over a nine-year period, analyzed the collection activity, and traced it to financial statements.
In addition, we reconciled reimbursement receipts to expenses incurred for the same nine-year period. This process involved a detailed analysis of the amounts on the ambulance company’s financial statements, intercompany accounts, and banking records.
