AI Legal Insights: Shaping Tomorrow

Share

Cornerstone Research-affiliated expert Yeşim Orhun of the University of Michigan will join a panel of experts to discuss “AI and Class Actions Unveiled: Liability, Defense, and Legal Innovation.”

Artificial intelligence (AI) class actions are no longer a future concern, but rather a present and lasting reality. Regardless of the type of class action, plaintiffs’ attorneys are now leveraging AI tools throughout all stages of class action litigation. Insurers, automakers, and retailers have already faced claims, primarily linked to AI’s privacy implications. As the legal landscape evolves, other industries and new liability theories are likely to emerge.

Panelists will discuss various facets of AI class actions, with a focus on:

  • Plaintiffs’ theories of liability arising out of corporations’ use of AI tools and the defense of AI class actions
  • Attorneys’ use of AI tools in prosecuting and defending AI class actions, including the use of AI for discovery, to address the Rule 23 criteria, and in classwide damage models
  • The impact of AI on class action settlements and fraudulent claims
