Penka Kovacheva and Maria Salgado of Cornerstone Research will join attorneys and industry leaders to discuss issues in health law at this four-day meeting in San Diego.
Dr. Kovacheva will speak on a panel titled “Novel Antitrust Theories in Health Care and Life Sciences Matters.” Panelists will discuss the legal and economic aspects of less explored antitrust theories in the healthcare and life sciences industries, such as alleged harm from serial acquisitions, reduced innovation, rebate bundling, patent listings, algorithmic collusion, and steering to integrated pharmacy and physician networks.
Dr. Salgado will speak on a panel titled “The Complexities of Managing Vendor Relationships: Practical Strategies for Navigating Data Breaches in the New Age of Data Privacy.” Discussion topics will include new laws and regulations related to data privacy and health information privacy, learnings from recent healthcare data breaches, and practical strategies for organizations contracting with healthcare vendors.
