Cornerstone Research announced today that Dorothy S. Lund has affiliated with the firm. Professor Lund teaches corporate law, law and economics, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) at Columbia Law School, where she also codirects the Ira M. Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership.

Professor Lund is a recognized expert in corporate governance, corporate law, M&A, and securities regulation. Her expertise is often central to litigation involving board processes and fiduciary duty issues.

In her research, Professor Lund analyzes the interplay between financial flows, financing decisions, and institutional ownership within the U.S. equity market. She has also examined the legal and financial dimensions of controller self-dealing in M&A, the future of proxy voting choice programs, and the role of mutual funds in shareholder litigation.

An accomplished author and speaker, Professor Lund has had several articles voted among the top ten corporate and securities law articles in the years they were published. Her work appears in leading law journals, including the Stanford Law Review, Columbia Law Review, and Yale Law Journal Forum. She also coauthored the leading casebook Corporations and Other Business Associations.

Professor Lund served as an associate professor of law at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and has held visiting professorships at the University of Chicago Law School and the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.

Before entering academia, Professor Lund practiced corporate law at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York. She also served as a law clerk for Chief Justice Leo E. Strine, Jr., of the Delaware Supreme Court and for Judge Joel M. Flaum of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Professor Lund holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from Pomona College.
