Justin McCrary Joins Columbia Law School

Professor McCrary was previously a professor of law at Berkeley Law School, University of California.

New York—Justin McCrary has joined Columbia Law School as the Paul J. Evanson Professor of Law. He will teach courses in corporate law and transactions, as well as civil procedure and dispute resolution.

From 2008 to 2018, Professor McCrary was a member of the faculty at the School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. He is also the founding director of Berkeley’s Social Science Data Laboratory, or “D-Lab,” an innovation center focused on big data techniques in social science research.

He has an A.B. from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Justin McCrary is an expert on statistical methods and economic modeling at the intersection of law and economics. Professor McCrary has testified on issues related to class certification, antitrust, labor, and statistics. His experience covers a range of industries and markets, including healthcare, labor, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, high tech, and retail.
