Education

Erin McGlogan manages development initiatives for the firm’s practice areas encompassing financial institutions, finance, and securities. She has over ten years of experience providing consulting services for complex litigation involving economic and financial issues, with a primary focus on securities and financial institutions cases. Ms. McGlogan also has significant experience consulting on numerous other types of matters, including intellectual property, corporate governance, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), bankruptcy, general damages, and tax cases.

Ms. McGlogan has managed large case teams with multiple experts. She has experience in all aspects of the litigation process. She has assisted clients and experts with discovery and interrogatories, expert reports, depositions, and trials. She has experience in state and federal courts, mediation, and both domestic and international arbitration.

Securities and financial institutions

Ms. McGlogan has consulted on cases addressing a variety of claims and issues, including Rule 10b-5, Section 11, ERISA, damages, loss causation, materiality, and class certification. Her research and analyses span a broad range of topics, such as the recent credit crisis, failed financial institutions, the materiality of financial metrics, public stock offerings, bonds, the hedge fund industry, executive compensation, stock options, and investment strategies.

Intellectual property

She has worked on a variety of intellectual property cases, with a particular emphasis on patent damages and assessing lost profits and reasonable royalties. Her industry experience in this area spans consumer products, credit cards, integrated circuits, defense systems, call center processing, and medical devices.

Corporate governance

Ms. McGlogan has consulted on numerous corporate governance matters, particularly in alter ego cases and evaluating indicia of corporate separateness. She has also assessed typical procedures and processes for boards of directors.

Prior to joining Cornerstone Research, Ms. McGlogan worked in investment grade corporate bond origination at Banc One Capital Markets, where she advised corporations about broad funding strategies and specific debt issuances, including timing, structure, and marketing plans.
