Stephanie Kuo consults on complex commercial disputes, securities litigation, and corporate and government investigations. Working across a variety of industries and financial products, Ms. Kuo has experience analyzing damages, assessing class certification and merits issues, and evaluating trading behavior. She also consults on corporate governance matters, including executive compensation, incentive structures, and issues related to the value of stock options.

Her representative work includes:

Commercial disputes and damages
  • Analyzing real-world and but-for scenarios, including loss causation, to assess economic harm
  • Applying sophisticated damages modeling to estimate damages
Securities litigation
  • Consulting on Rule 10b-5, Section 11, and Section 14a matters across a range of products, including American depositary receipts (ADRs), bonds, and stock options
  • Assessing class certification and merits issues, including analyzing the market efficiency of equities, bonds, and options
  • Calculating damages and settlements for class-wide mediations
Corporate and government investigations
  • Consulting on enforcement actions involving the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS)
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis of high frequency traders, hedge funds, and large financial institutions
Market manipulation and microstructure
  • Evaluating allegations of market manipulation in commercial litigation and regulatory and internal investigations
  • Analyzing large, proprietary datasets to identify allegedly irregular conduct and assess trading patterns
