Cornerstone Research has tripled its revenue in the past ten years and doubled it in the past five, CEO Bryan Ricchetti said in an interview with Mergermarket. The firm now has 1,300 professionals across nine offices in the United States and Europe, with headcount doubling over the past six or seven years, and about seventy partners.
Built on the firm’s origins in finance, Cornerstone has expanded to include a leading antitrust and competition practice. Dr. Ricchetti said the practice has grown at least fourfold in the past five to six years as global antitrust scrutiny has intensified, particularly around large technology companies. The firm regularly adds economists with prior experience at competition agencies, and its experts are retained to testify in antitrust matters and high-stakes merger litigation.

Dr. Ricchetti said the firm plans to continue growing primarily by developing talent in-house, supplemented by selective lateral hiring. “Our core strategy is organic growth. Most partners enter the firm as associates,” he said.
The interview also covers the firm’s recent promotions of seven senior vice presidents, including Vildan Altuglu, cohead of the consumer fraud and product liability practice; Yan Cao, cohead of the finance practices; and Celeste Saravia, cohead of the antitrust and competition practice.
