Cornerstone Research professionals will present on merger-focused panels at this annual Brussels conference.
This annual three-day gathering brings together regulators, in-house counsel, lawyers and economists to assess current competition law policies and strategies for the future.
On day one, Vilen Lipatov will join a panel of competition experts to discuss ‘Merger Control in Dynamic Markets: Ecosystem Theories of Harm & Other Developments.’ Panellists will evaluate the evolving merger control landscape, focusing on the increased scrutiny of digital mergers. Other topics will include the European Union Merger Regulation (EUMR) reform, the use of the efficiency defence, the resurgence of structural presumption, and the role of data in mergers.
On day three, Gregor Langus and Norbert Maier will speak on a panel titled ‘Revised Market Definition, Ecosystem Theories of Harm & Other Developments in Economics of Mergers.’ Dr Langus and Dr Maier will discuss approaches to non-price parameters, ‘killer acquisitions’ and dynamic markets, and the burden and standard of proof.
