At this Cornerstone Research event, Rachel Merelie, of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), spoke about the future of the markets regime. Ms Merelie also discussed how the CMA identifies competition problems and the particular remedies it has sought. The CMA analyses particular markets to assess whether they prevent, restrict, or distort competition.
Rachel Merelie is the acting executive director of Markets and Mergers at the CMA. A member of the CMA Board, Ms Merelie has held a number of roles at the Authority, including senior director of Delivery and Sector Regulation.
