Elena Garcia recognized for outstanding leadership in workplace culture by Ragan.

Washington—Ragan Workplace Wellness has named Elena Garcia, Cornerstone Research’s Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), to its list of Top Women in Wellness and HR.

In recognizing Ms. Garcia, Ragan Workplace Wellness highlighted her leadership as the firm responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Garcia played a key role on the firm’s response team, which instituted a flex program for hybrid work arrangements, coordinated antigen tests and a contact tracing program, and ensured that resources were readily available to address employees dealing with mental health issues. Ms. Garcia and her team also launched small group discussions facilitated by a third-party professional counselor to offer strategies for employees to better manage anxiety or stress.

“On behalf of the entire Cornerstone Research team, I congratulate Elena on this notable honor, and thank her for her extraordinary efforts to help us operate safely and effectively during a challenging time for all businesses and their employees,” said Cornerstone Research Chief Operating Officer, Greg Negus. “Our staff was able to adapt and thrive while negotiating the pandemic, and that was in large part due to Elena’s strong leadership, compassion, and dedication to health and wellness.”

Ms. Garcia has more than twenty years of experience in recruiting, talent management, and development. As CHRO, she directs and provides strategic oversight for Cornerstone Research’s human resources activities, including employee relations, performance management, diversity and inclusion, benefits design, policy development, and immigration, as well as recruiting, learning, and development for the firm’s corporate teams. She is a member of the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council, and organized the launch of seven employee-led affinity groups that provide a strong platform for connections.

“I’m honored to be recognized alongside so many great women who similarly dedicate their careers to human resources and the wellness of others,” Ms. Garcia said. “I’m grateful for my team at Cornerstone Research and their ability to readily adapt to whatever changes come our way.”
