Forensic accounting expert recognized for pioneering curriculum development and excellence in training the next generation of anti-fraud professionals.
Lynda Schwartz, a leading forensic accountant and academic expert affiliated with Cornerstone Research, has been named the 2026 Educator of the Year by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
The prestigious award, presented annually to an ACFE member who has made outstanding contributions to anti-fraud education within their college or university, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to fighting fraud and mentoring future industry professionals.
Ms. Schwartz was selected for her work in bridging the gap between academic instruction and professional practice.
The ACFE Educator of the Year Award recognizes individuals who have made major contributions to the advancement of anti-fraud and forensic accounting education.
Ms. Schwartz serves as professor of practice and director of the forensic accounting and data analytics curriculum at the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management. She was the principal author of the ACFE Fraud Risk Management Certificate Program and has contributed to the Fraud Risk Management Guide.
As an academic expert affiliated with Cornerstone Research, Ms. Schwartz applies her extensive forensic accounting, fraud investigation, and data analytics expertise to complex issues arising in litigation and regulatory matters. Her expert work includes performing forensic accounting investigations, addressing damages claims including lost profits, addressing bankruptcy and business solvency issues, analyzing financial accounting issues, and consulting on post-acquisition disputes.
