Chuck Boyer specializes in fixed income markets, investments, and valuation. His work spans municipal debt instruments, mortgage-backed securities (MBS), and other fixed income products; investment management; and valuation issues arising in private equity (PE), venture capital (VC), and M&A settings. Dr. Boyer applies sophisticated statistical analysis and financial modeling to disputes involving pricing, portfolio management, and financial instruments across financial institutions, FinTech, and real estate.

Dr. Boyer supports clients and experts through all phases of litigation, including mediation, class certification, deposition, merits, and trial.

Municipal debt and fixed income

Dr. Boyer has extensive experience with the economics of municipal debt markets and structured products, applying rigorous quantitative modeling to questions of pricing, risk, and performance attribution. His experience includes:

  • Pricing municipal debt instruments, including variable rate demand obligations (VRDOs)
  • Assessing industry customs and practices for conduit bond issuances and municipal security price evaluations
  • Analyzing risks and performance for MBS and other fixed income instruments
  • Performing corporate bond event studies

Dr. Boyer has led valuation engagements across both PE and VC fund structures, their portfolio companies, and M&A disputes spanning a range of transactional and litigation contexts, such as:
