New principals from the firm’s Applied Research Center join colleagues consulting on antitrust, consumer finance, labor markets, securities, and valuation matters.

Cornerstone Research, a leading provider of economic and financial consulting and expert testimony, has promoted the following individuals to principal: Chuck Boyer, Maximilian Bredendiek, Etienne Cayer, Arthur V. Corea-Smith, Matthew Davis, Kathryn Fox, Chady Gemayel, Molly Glandon, Samuel E. Haltenhof, Tyler Hays, Michael J. Hilfiker, Prithvi Hingorani, Alejandro Hoyos, Kathleen Hu, Graham McKee, Bryan Pine, Avishai “Avi” Schiff, and Vijeta Tandon.

Chuck Boyer specializes in fixed income, investments, and valuation. Dr. Boyer’s work spans matters involving municipal debt instruments, mortgage-backed securities, investment management, and valuation in private equity, venture capital, and M&A. He applies statistical analysis and financial modeling to pricing and portfolio management disputes arising in financial institutions, as well as the FinTech and real estate industries.

Maximilian Bredendiek consults on matters involving market manipulation allegations, securities litigation, and valuation. With experience that spans the U.S., UK, and other European jurisdictions, Dr. Bredendiek has analyzed allegations of improper trading, price fixing, misrepresentations and omissions in corporate disclosures, and greenwashing. His work also includes the valuation of fixed income derivatives and venture capital firms.

Etienne Cayer consults on matters related to investments, trading and hedging strategies, corporate governance, and alleged market manipulation. Using financial, economic, and statistical analysis techniques, Mr. Cayer addresses liability, loss causation, damages, and valuation issues, notably those involving FinTech, bankruptcy proceedings, and breach of contract claims. His work spans various venues, including the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Arthur V. Corea-Smith focuses on antitrust and competition matters, providing economic and statistical analysis in complex commercial litigation, regulatory investigations, and mergers. Dr. Corea-Smith works with attorneys and experts throughout the litigation process. His experience spans many industries, including agriculture, airlines, athletics, banking, digital platforms, pharmaceuticals, steel, technology, telecommunications, ticketing, and transportation.

Matthew Davis leads teams that analyze securities litigation matters involving Rule 10b-5 and Section 11/12 claims, addressing market efficiency, price impact, loss causation, and damages. He also conducts analyses in a range of other complex financial and commercial disputes. Dr. Davis’s experience includes matters in U.S. federal and state courts, and in Canada.

Kathryn Fox consults on complex commercial litigation and regulatory proceedings involving damages, market microstructure, and valuation. Ms. Fox has evaluated how environmental, social, and governance (ESG)-related disclosures affect company stock prices and portfolio performance. She has also worked on matters involving affiliate marketing and clickstream data.

Chady Gemayel has extensive securities litigation experience, including matters involving special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs). Dr. Gemayel also consults on valuation, corporate governance, corporate transactions, and derivative litigation, including cases in the Delaware Court of Chancery. He works with clients and experts in all phases of commercial litigation, including class certification, merits, mediation, and trial.

Molly Glandon leads teams in commercial litigation and regulatory proceedings, with a focus on consumer finance and corporate governance. Ms. Glandon analyzes consumer finance issues in class action litigation and regulatory investigations. In corporate governance, Ms. Glandon assesses adherence to industry standards for compliance, executive compensation, and internal audit processes.

Samuel E. Haltenhof consults on economic and statistical matters related to antitrust and competition and consumer fraud and product liability claims. Dr. Haltenhof applies econometric tools and empirical analyses to assess class certification, liability, and damages issues. His antitrust expertise covers many industries, including entertainment, healthcare, technology, telecommunications, transportation, and video games.

Tyler Hays has more than a decade of experience in application development, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) workflows and enablement tools. As a member of the firm’s Applied Research Center, Mr. Hays plays a leadership role in building firmwide AI systems architecture and processes. He has also designed bespoke applications supporting the firm’s securities practice.

Michael J. Hilfiker consults on diverse financial and economic issues, focusing on commercial disputes, general damages, and matters involving financial institutions. Mr. Hilfiker analyzes banking industry best practices, allegations of fraud and Ponzi schemes, data analytics, lost profits, and lost business value. His industry experience includes FinTech, healthcare, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, real estate, technology, and telecommunications.

Prithvi Hingorani specializes in securities, corporate governance, and financial institutions matters. Mr. Hingorani has evaluated economic issues at the class certification stage, loss causation, damages, and disclosure process in Section 10(b) and Section 11 shareholder lawsuits. He has also analyzed cash flows and valuations in a variety of contexts, including investment companies, private equity, and securitizations.

Alejandro Hoyos focuses on regulatory investigations, white collar litigation, securities litigation, and quantification of economic damages. Dr. Hoyos supports clients and experts in federal and state court cases, private arbitration, and international arbitration. He also has significant corporate transaction litigation experience. His work spans industries that include consumer retail, cryptocurrencies, financial services, mining, pharmaceuticals and technology.

Kathleen Hu consults on matters in the life sciences industry, particularly life sciences antitrust issues, as well as other matters involving antitrust, product liability, and healthcare. She serves as Young Economist Representative on the Podcast Programming Committee in the Antitrust Law Section of the American Bar Association.

Graham McKee applies his expertise in labor economics and statistics to complex litigation and investigations. He specializes in labor and discrimination matters, including labor antitrust and employment discrimination disputes, often involving large-scale proprietary data. As a member of Cornerstone’s Applied Research Center, Dr. McKee develops statistical tools, artificial intelligence (AI) workflows, and economic methods for efficient, high-quality case analyses.

Bryan Pine consults on mergers and antitrust and competition litigation, with a focus on the healthcare industry. Mr. Pine leads teams and manages research processes for cases involving massive volumes of data, including those related to hospital systems and technology companies. He has consulted on matters in the U.S., UK, and Australia.

Avishai “Avi” Schiff focuses on economic and financial matters involving market manipulation claims, investment management, antitrust, private equity, and venture capital. Dr. Schiff assesses alleged market manipulation and improper trading in commodities and financial markets in regulatory investigations and class action lawsuits. He has also analyzed vertical integration issues, contracting, barriers to entry, and information-sharing among competitors.

Vijeta Tandon provides economic and financial analysis for consumer finance and banking matters, commercial disputes, and consumer class actions. Ms. Tandon has extensive experience consulting on regulatory investigations and class action litigation involving credit decisions, compliance, banking industry processes, corporate governance, failed financial institutions, and consumer products.
