Mr. Zaphiris focuses on issues related to financial analysis and forecasting. He collaborates with senior leadership across the firm in areas such as budgeting, business strategy, recruiting, and marketing, and provides analytical support for a number of internal initiatives.
In his previous role as a principal at Cornerstone Research, Mr. Zaphiris consulted on complex litigation and regulatory matters. Over the past decade, his work at the firm has encompassed a range of finance and valuation issues, with expertise in securities fraud actions (including Rule 10b-5 and Section 11 claims) and questions related to loss causation, materiality, and damages. His case experience has involved accounting restatements, corporate governance, analyst commentary, options backdating, bankruptcy, mergers and acquisitions, mutual funds, derivative securities, and breach of contract issues.
Mr. Zaphiris has helped clients achieve successful outcomes in many contexts, including summary judgment, class certification, arbitration, and trial. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.
