Esteban Greco is an expert on competition policy, economic regulation, and energy economics. Mr. Greco has nearly two decades of experience analyzing competition issues related to public and private organizations in Latin America. He has consulted on antitrust and merger matters, and has addressed allegations of bid rigging, collusion, and abuse of dominance. In addition to his extensive expertise in the energy industry, notably electricity and natural gas, Mr. Greco has consulted on cases involving airlines, consumer goods, digital platforms, FinTech, pharmaceuticals, and telecommunications.

Mr. Greco is the former president of the Comisión Nacional de Defensa de la Competencia (CNDC), Argentina’s competition regulatory agency. He also served as the Commission’s chief economist and commissioner. At the CNDC, Mr. Greco worked on revisions to Argentina’s antitrust laws, consulting on many of the country’s most high-profile mergers and competition cases. Previously, he oversaw performance and economics at ENARGAS, which enforces Argentina’s regulatory framework for natural gas.

A prolific author, Mr. Greco has published his research in peer-reviewed academic and professional publications. He co-edits the Latin America column at Competition Policy International. Mr. Greco also regularly presents on competition and policy topics at conferences in Latin America and the United States.

Mr. Greco teaches courses in competition law, regulated markets, and energy economics. He is a professor at the University of Buenos Aires and the Torcuato Di Tella Institute (Argentina), and a visiting professor at Mexico’s Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) and Costa Rica’s Lead University.
