San Francisco—Cornerstone Research, a leading provider of economic and financial consulting and expert testimony, has announced the promotions of three staff members to principal: Marcelo Han, Laura Kelly, and Lorenzo Michelozzi.

Marcelo Han applies sophisticated expertise in financial statement analysis, valuation, and econometrics to cases in a range of industries, notably consumer products, financial institutions, and technology. Mr. Han has led cases analyzing issues in M&A; asset management, including hedge funds, mutual funds, private equity, and venture capital; and bankruptcy. In addition, he consults on content for the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) examination, a leading global certification for risk managers. Mr. Han is based in Los Angeles.
Laura Kelly is a chartered financial analyst who focuses on complex matters related to securities class actions, financial institutions, market manipulation, and valuation. Ms. Kelly’s securities experience includes analyzing issues related to price impact, loss causation, and damages. In cases of alleged market manipulation, she has evaluated money markets and derivatives data. She has also analyzed the value of loan guarantees and employee stock options. Ms. Kelly is based in Washington.
Lorenzo Michelozzi applies economics and marketing expertise to merger reviews, data privacy matters, and intellectual property disputes. Dr. Michelozzi has consulted on the competitive effects of mergers in high-profile matters involving telecommunications and healthcare. He has extensive expertise with class certification issues arising in alleged data breaches and data privacy matters. He has also analyzed issues related to online advertising and the valuation of intangible assets. Dr. Michelozzi is based in Washington.
